Undegraduate Research

Throughout my academic journey, I have secured internships with various organizations, including North Carolina Clean Energy, where I conducted undergraduate research under North Carolina A&T State University. My research focused on renewable technology and autonomous vehicles, giving me valuable hands-on experience in innovative and sustainable engineering fields.

Smart Diffuser System
  • Actively collaborated with team of engineers and a graduate student to design a smart diffuser system, decreasing energy usage inside buildings and operating costs for consumer.

  • Implemented computer vision using Raspberry PI camera to detect bystanders, communicating controls via Bluetooth communication system.

  • Lead design and implementation of circuit drawings and electrical cabling

  • Conducted trade study of components for project implementation, decreasing project costs and redundancy.

  • Lead meetings and initiated planning for project delivery.

Autonomous Vehicle Research
  • Actively collaborated with team of engineers and graduate students to design autonomous robotic cars with lane following and object avoidance using IMUs, LIDAR, ROS and GPS.

  • Designed and integrated hardware and software of robots in parallel with graduate students

Beacon Project
  • Collaborated with faculty, students and Iridium engineers to develop a device that connects users to the Iridium Satellite Constellation via the Certus-9770 transceiver. The device allows for facilitating data and voice transfer in remote areas during emergencies.

  • Lead design of block level diagrams and electrical connection of components for system hardware.

  • Selected and integrated hardware components to optimize performance of Certus-9770 transceiver, ensuring product quality.

Active Organizations

Through my active involvement in professional organizations such as NSBE and IEEE, I have not only expanded my career prospects but also connected with exceptional Black engineers and professionals who inspire me to reach new heights. These organizations have provided invaluable networking opportunities, mentorship, and insight into the industry, all of which have helped shape my professional journey.

Additionally, I’ve been able to use these connections to give back to my community. I have volunteered at food banks and participated in events that support underrepresented groups in STEM. These experiences have allowed me to contribute to causes close to my heart while surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who are committed to making a positive impact.

These experiences have further solidified my commitment to not only excelling in my field but also empowering others along the way, fostering a sense of community and solidarity in both my personal and professional life.

College Of Engineering Ambassador Program

Through my time as a COE Ambassador at North Carolina A&T State University, I have served as a student leader where I helped assist in organizing COE events, leading projects and mentoring peers.

Other Notable Volunteer Work/Organizations

FOSSI CPCHEM

Helped assist in foodbanks, children sport events and exposing underrepresented minority children to STEM.

Shawn D Delifus Foundation

Constructed instructional media and website for swimming safety in the black community.
